Jaq

from Clarity by Clidesfeld

/

about

Jaq was released in 2010 on The Carousel Room and was always paired with its sister song Jil, making for a 12-minute emotional endurance ride. It was also one of the most heavy-hitting songs during live performances. Giving Jaq the acoustic treatment Jil had benefited from gave it a brand new voice to the story it tells, shifting and growing and reflecting in a sweet nostalgic lullaby.

lyrics

A mother fills an empty space
Prey to whom I can't define
Another stays within a case,
Disabled by infectious shine
A cloud from which this scent could fall,
Aloud, a call cries clementine

I want you
To continue
Continue
Your bloom

Stop light, stays to know
More than I intend to show,
I want to
More than I'll admit to
Less distractions in the void
Penetrate in the noise

I want you
To continue
Continue
Your bloom

I will tear, and I am bare,
Consequently I am scared
In the stare, unaware
Callous wears, strength impairs
I'm getting lost in this nightmare
Splendor rips inside a dare

I will tear, and I am bare,
Consequently I am scared
In the stare, unaware
Callous wears, strength impairs
I'm getting lost in this nightmare
Splendor rips inside a dare

I want you
To continue
Continue
Your bloom
